Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 Not Recognizing External HD

I have a laptop with 2 internal hard drives (C: and D:).  C: crashed.  I have backups on both D: (the 2nd internal hard drive) and an extrnal hard drive (WD MyBook WS 010000 H1U).  I want to physicall move the hard drive from D: to C:, and restore from my external hard drive, but Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 is not recognizing the external hard drive.  I don't know how to install a driver for it or reference it through an IP or whatever...  It is connected via USB.  What do I do?  If I can only SEE the recovery files, I know what to do from there.

P.S. I have restored successfully before from D: to a new empty C:, but time is of the essence and I don't want to wait for a new internal hard drive to be shipped to me.

Do you see the external drive in Windows? Or do you boot off into the SRD to restore?

Normally, yes, I would see the USB-attached external hard drive in Windows but the hard drive crashed and I am having to use the System Recovery Disk (SRD) and now, no, it is not recognizing the external hard drive - even though there is a little sound signifying that the system knew it was plugged in.  Interestingly, if I insert a USB memory stick, it does recognize that.  So, I am thinking it needs a driver (I can not find the driver in the format that the SRD tool is looking for -- .inf??) OR is there some way to use the IP address feature on the SRD or the networking tools to see it?  Oh, by the way, when I try to get the network feature to work, it fails.

By the way, I am trying to get the Western Digital WD 010000 H1U to be recognized.  It is a My Book Essential Edition 2.0

The SRD in BESR2010 is based on Windows PE 2-1 which means you need Windows Server 2008 (without R2) or Vista 32Bit drivers for the HDD. I assue you use the 32Bit SRD?

As the NIC also fails to initialise I should think you need the appropriate driver too.

How about you simply use SRD 2011 and try to recognize the drive. BESR 2010 images can be restored using SSR 2011.
