Backup Exec System Recovery

Hi

 

Just took over ownership of a new network, SBS 2008, running BESR8.5. The original engineer loaded up the trial of backup exec 2010, and ordered a license of BESR8.5. The trial has expired and I have tried to install BESR8.5. However I get the following message - >

"Error E890AF6A: Could not log on with supplied host name, user ID and password. Error E8904F68: Cannot get database connection. JZ00L: Login failed. Examine the SQLWarnings chained to this exception for the reason(s). Another symptom is that the console will hang when attempting to login to the BESRM console."
 
The result is that we cannot login after a launch of the application. One of the fixes is to remove it and install onto another server, but that isnt an option. This is the only server onsite. Are there any work arounds to get this up and running?
 
Does anyone have any ideas?

You use BESR 8.5 Manager right ?

Yes, that's the method we use to try log on to the service. As soon as we enter an administrator or backup user password we get this problem. George

Hm, are all the BESR-M services running, have you checked that ?
