Backup Local Machine/Server

I've got a 2003 server and XP workstations.
Can I install the Backup Exec for Windows Servers on my 2003 Server and create a jobs to backup the same machine /files,SQL,etc./ and to backup the XP workstations trough the remote agent?

Actually I want to store daily backups of the server to one of the workstations hard drive for instance, and weekly backups to tape.

So is it possible to backup the local machine and how? Witch version do I need? Is 10d good for me?

BESR will allow you to create full backups of the volumes to a hard drive. But I think what you are enquiring about is Backup Exec. You may get a better response on the Backup Exec moderated forum. http://forums.symantec.com/discussions/forum.jspa?forumID=103
