Best practice for backing up desktop computer over WAN link?

IT_WHT

Hello all!

Does anyone know the best way to configure Recovery for desktop on a WAN link. I would like to configure the management console to take a backup on five machine on the other site and place it on a share folder on that site.

Do I have to create a new recover point set?

How do I exclude this five computers from the "base" recovery set? I have one recovery set that applies to "Computers with Symantec System Recovery 2011 installed".

I hope you understand my problem

Regards

Roger

So you just need to create a new backup destination configured for that particular site. Then configure a backup policy to use the new backup destination.

This policy then needs to be assigned to just those 5 machines. You can use a filter to do this:

How do I exclude this five computers from the "base" recovery set?

Not sure I understand this part. You have to do a 'base' (full) backup first.

Hope that helps. If not, can you explain in more detail please?
