This is for Symantec System Protection aka Backup Exec System Recovery...
We are presently on a 2010 version, I don't know which SP...
And I want to upgrade it to System Protection 2013 SP2...
It is a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 64-bit server.
Thank you, Tom

I will suggest to uninstall BESR 2010 , as suggested by Chris we go back 2 versions and perform a fresh install of SSR 2013 R2.
Make sure all BESR 2010 services are uninstalled correctly and if not contect support for clean uninstall and then perform a fresh install of SSR 2013 R2.
Also Make sure your OS supports SSR 2013 R2 install.

We only provide the ability to upgrade going back 2 versions.
So, to upgrade to 2013 R2, you can only upgrade from 2011 & 2013 (non-R2).
If you try to upgrade BESR 2010, I believe it will prompt you to uninstall first. Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you for responding.
Yes, this is indeed a BESR 2010 installation...
Must I do the uninstall manually or does the BESR 2013 R2 do the un-install for me??
Thank you, Tom

Is a BESR 2010 clean uninstall documented anywhere on Symantec website??
