Error E339514F ?

BESR 7.0: I'm getting this error message at least once every hour. The 'unknown object' referred to is (probably) a disk that is not present any more in the machine. How can I reset/remove/end this notification?
Error:

I have the same issue and thought I'd add some details to the above post for our situation.  We removed an iSCSI SAN drive from a machine and started to receive this error.  This drive had never been backed up by BESR and was only on the server for a few minutes while we were doing a test.

I've completely un/re-installed BESR (v7.0.2.23035) and the error still persists.  I have even run "scrubber" which is a Microsoft utiltity that removes registry pointers to old disk volumes.

This error is not affecting backups, but it is quite annoying and leads one to wonder what else might be broken.

Thanks,
Steve

I have the same problem on one of my servers. We had to move a storage array for our file server from one MSA to another one on our SAN. Even though the old array no longer exists, the management control software is still trying to find it. The backups run fine, windows is fine (as far as the drives), but we keep getting these errors.

We have the same problem, but the error stops when the agent stops and the soft is unninstalled.
Then we installed the most recent agent, reboot the server and the error is back.
It seems there is something thad hangs in the registry. All the backups runs normal only the error in eventviewer is annoying.

Glad to see I'm not the only 1. However, Symantec doesn't seem to be very interested in the issue, given the fact nobody ever gave a response so far ...

To All.

A possible explanation is :

You instal the agent, removed for any reason and than reinstall it (for update). At this moment it is possible thad some register keys are not beeing changed as suposed. This means thad BESR is still looking for the volumes connected to the previous agent and generated the error as known. I have received a *.bat file from symantec to cleanout the register.
If this is succesvol i will inform you.

It seems thad the solution from symantec is not working.
I will look further in to it, if anybody else find a solution, let us know.

Symantec support suggested uninstall and reinstall of management control component.
This worked in one case, but not others.

In addition the error / alert occurs whenever you add, alter or amend a volume.
So the above workaround isn't really a sustainable solution.

We now have six out of thirty servers with this alert.
This will only increase as we attach or deattach SAN LUNs, resize volumes, etc, etc.

Our solution - reduce the alert levels via SMTP and Event logs...

We are working on a Service Pack release for Backup Exec System Recovery Manager that is expected to resolved this issue.  Currently this SP is anticipated to be ready for release in late January 2008.

I will post further updates as they become available.
