Error ECA307D2: Failed to open (mount or apply) the WIM file in the Veritas System Recovery Disk mod

bmackey55
Level 3

I'm actually using VSR ver 21 but that wasn't in the drop-down.

I have to install windwos ADK ver 1703 to support access to my Buffalo NAS despite it supporting SMB ver 2.

When I create "Typical" SRD WITHOUT the ADK ver 1703 installed it works fine but then I don't have proper access to my NAS

When I create "Typical" or "Advanced" WITH ADM ver 1703 installed it fails with the attached error.

I have read many posts on this topic. Anti Virsu SW can be an issue. I only use out-of-the-box Microsoft stuff and I have turned it all off without any luck.

Any suggestions?

ADK 1703 is quite old, isn't it? Did you try a more recent version?

Could you attempt below?

<https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100040728>
Run 'Recovery Disk Creation Wizard' with option "Run as different user" - using domain admin account.

<https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/article.100033046>
Uninstall Webroot AntiVirus and reboot machine. Then try SRD creation again.

Note: It is possible that the same issue may be seen with other 3rd party AntiVirus software. However, at the time of publication, the issue has only been seen with Webroot.

I don't have any 3rd party anti virus SW installed. I'm only using the out of the box MS stuff.

Maybe I'm blind, but I can not find they "Run as a different user" otpion anywhere. I have even located the SRDCreate.exe and ran as administrator.

Where is this option?

You need to hold down the Shift Key while right-clicking the EXE file, then the option should appear in the context menu.
