If you are getting the following error:
"Error applying Transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid"
Error occurs installing or uninstalling through "Add Remove Programs Cannot Install or Uninstall Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR)
It is cause by a previous installation of Livestate Recovery or Backup Exec System recovery becoming damage or corrupt.
Depending upon the version what you will need to do is the following (for BESR 6.5x):
(1) Exit all Programs
(CAUTION: It is recommended customers backup the registry before making modifications).
(2) Click Start -> Run - Type the following: Regedit <Press Enter> Click OK
(3) Navigate to "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\"
(4) Highlight "CD339D1422F576B4588A92CCF2A07A1D" (Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery" will be seen as the Product Name" in the right pane).
(5) Delete this key. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
(6) Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall"
(7) Highlight "{41D933DC-5F22-4B67-85A8-29CC2F0AA7D1}" (Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery" will be seen as the "Display name" in the right pane).
(8) Delete this key. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
(9) Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec\Installed Recovery Technology"
(10) Highlight "{41D933DC-5F22-4B67-85A8-29CC2F0AA7D1}" (Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery" will be seen as "Installed Product Name"
(11) Delete this key. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.
(12) Exit the Registry Editor.
