I've installed BESR 2010 on two servers about 3 months ago. Now I've finally come around to buy the licensens to activate the software.
On one of the servers it's no problem, but the other server says the activation is ok, but then nothing. It still states that the license has expired.
Any idea's? I would very much like not to reinstall the software since this would cause a couple of reboots (and I've got no maintenance windows until late February).
Any ideas?

Try to active the server in question using the VBS script: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/downloads/vbs-files-configuring-besr-8x7x-license-smtp-optio...

Thanks for the help, but it didn't work.
I did:
* edited the script (pasted in the serialnumber). Tried both with and without "-".
* execute the script. The scripts runs ok but then I get a popup stating that the trial period has expired.
Is there anything I do wrong?

Hm, then compare the registry keys under HKLM\Software\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\9.0 of the two servers. Try copying the missing registry keys and restart the BESR service.

With the exception of sourcedir the registry is identical.

Hi Petter
Did you enter the same Serial Number to register yous servers ?

I've tried both, but both fails. I got a script error message that I've attatched.
Thanks everybody for quick replies :)

Hm, in the vbs file you entered the serial number without the hyphen "‐" ?

Tried both with and without hyphen. Se enclosed picture.

Hi !
Thanks for the tip.
None of the registry keys was available.
I also got Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) installed on the server, do you know if deleting the HPC folder will disrupt SEP?
