That doesn't work for teh Trial Edition. Ther is no option to to Create a New Recovery Disk. The only option I have is to Creat a Custom Recovery Disk. i have th Trial Edition of SSR 2013 Not SSR 2013 R2
Things changed with R2 - you now have to create your own recovery disk (because of the license changes enforced by Microsoft).
The question is; why are you doing a trial of 2013 when 2013 R2 has been available for quite some time now??

It only needs a serial number (license) in order to do a cold backup (cold backup is a backup via the recovery disk). You do not need a license to do a restore.
