Incemental backups uses to much storage

Having used SSR for several months we have learned that the incremental backups are way out of the charts. A regular laptop can have increments of 500-1500MB. It is practically impossible for a ordinary user to produce this much data from one day to another.

Our backup policies are set to "create a subfolder" for each client. I don't know if this option could be the culprit for this behaviour.

Can someone point me to where to look to troubleshoot this.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Patrik

SSR backups are sector based backups so typically when an incremental backups are trigerred it looks for a sector which is changed and doesn't look for which file is changed. Even though in one sector there is just one file which is changed it would still backup the entire sector which might contain more files.

Probably defragmenting the drive and running the backups might help to some extent.
