Incremental backup not taking place - full backup always occurs.

When the backup on my machine takes place, it is always a full backup, instead of an incremental one. I have used live update to download the latest files from Symantec, but still it does this. The operating system is Vista, and the back up is Backup Exec System Recovery 8.5 Desktop Edition. Please could anyone tell me how to get the settings such that an incremental backup will take place?
Many thanks,
Stuart.

I now wondered if this might be caused by the backup today being the first one in a new month. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have seen this issue within my network with the 8.5.1 version. Once I upgraded to 8.5.3 I was able to create incremental backups on my vista systems. Could you upgrade to this release ?

Thanks very much for your posting. My version is 8.5.3.3148, so it should work O.K. I'll wait until next Thurs., when the next backup of the main drive should take place, and see if it does do an incremental one. It isn't a new month, so let's hope it works then.
Stuart.
