Installation failure

Hi,

We are attempting to install VSR 2016 SP2 on a Windows 10 1709 client.  The installation fails every time.  See below:

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Downloaded v18 and it installed without any issue.  Thanks!

Did you search on that error via our support site? There are a few articles that you should check:

If none of them help, please share the install log for review. Also, do you see any errors in the Windows application event log at the time of this install failure?

Finally, are you aware that VSR 18 is now available? If you have active maintenance, you should be entitled to a free upgrade... may be worth installing this instead of VSR 16.

Hi Chris,

1. Yes I researched that error and saw the ones in your link. None of those are the situation we are experincing.

2.  What I posted is the entire install log.  The install starts and fails quickly and silently. The install screen just disappears. Is there another log I should be looking at?

3.  Windows Event log shows .Net Error Unhandled Exception.  I am not the one doing the install.  Someone is doing it at a remote location on the opposite coast and that is what they reported to me.

4.  Will download v2018 and see if the problem persists.  Will report back.
