Using Norton Ghost v14, part way through a complete hard drive Backup (copying the entire hard disk to a network-attached drive, which per Symantec support is a sector copy, not a file copy)., the backup failed with the error message:
VProSvc.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occurred in the application at location 0x06bd68b3.
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Click on CANCEL to debug the program.
When I clicked on CANCEL, I got a Norton error message (went by quickly) something like "Unable to continue the program. Unable to connect to the service.)
No other applications running, other than the operating system's own programs and other system software (NIS).
Windows XP Pro, patched to date, running on an IBM ThinkCentre A52, on a new hard drive. Norton Internet Security 2010, patched to date, installed and running.
Help needed.
Note that the Forum required me to choose a product but did not list Norton Ghost.
