Hi,

I have 2 issues.

First, I downloaded SP2 for SSR2013 64.  How do you install the service pack?

Second, I filled 2 external hard drives with recovery points.  I want to start a new back up job on a third drive. SSR2013 locks up when I try to remove the current  back up job. I want to remove it so I can begin the incremental recovery point backup related to the new backup job.(If I don't remove it I can only create an independent recovery.)

If you downloaded SP2 through Internet Explorer, add a .EXE to the file name. We'll revise that technote and create a ZIP file to prevent that in the future.

With the lockup issue, it's hard to say what is locking up SSR without seeing the logs. Make sure that the status along the bottom of the SSR console does not say 'Scanning Disks...' when you attempt to delete the job. Also, you may want to make sure the drive tied to the job is plugged in when you attempt to remove the job.

If you're not concerned about the cause and want to just get backups going again, you can stop the Symantec System Recovery service, browse to C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SYMANTEC SYSTEM RECOVERY, and rename the SCHEDULE folder to SCHEDULE.OLD. Reboot and create the job.

Is there a document you can share that explains the differences in System Recovery 2013 Editions.  In my environment I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Server hosting several guests.  Does the Virtual Edition go on the Host and all Guests? Is the main difference between the Virtual Edition and the Server Edition that the Virtual gives you the option of backing up and restoring the .vhd file?

Hello,

I'm about to update from SSR 2011 to 2013 and I want to keep all the
settings, paths, policies, etc as they are at the moment. I have the installation
media Downloaded on my current server. Should I install into the default directory
or change it to point into the current Altiris -directory?

And futhermore, does it make any difference if I am using the Installation wizard on the
SSR 2013 installation media OR should I use the "step by step guide to upgrade" located here:
