Latest version a SSR 2013, 11.0.2.49853 on Win 8.1 on 2 computers.
On one it is set for 3 Independent Recover points for a backup set of C:, an ESP drive, and K: totaling about 170GB's on a 1 TB drive with other objects and 355Gb's free. No problems.
On the other Win8.1 computer (that is not uEFI BIOS) it was set for 4 Ind. Recovery points of C:, D:, and E:, of about 155GB's total on a 1TB drive with 455Gb's free. For whatever reason ONLY 2 iterations are saved? It deletes the oldest one after it completes the backup process according to the LOG? So it had enough room clearly? I changed the setting to 9, maybe it counted each drive letter as one? Same results?
Disk space used for backups is set to 900GB's so it isn't the cause?
Suggestions? I'd like to have 4 copies (run once a week) of each drive available.

Hello Sir,
The calculation for both the machines is as below if you want to take 4 recovery points
645 gb free = 680gb With 170gb each if 4 such recovery points are created the calculation goes to 680gb , however you have a free space of 645gb
On the other drive
545 gb free = 620gb With 155gb each if 4 recovery points are created the calculation goes to 620gb and you have a free space of 545gb
Thus with SSR it happens if you want to keep a set of 4 recovery points you need to have a space for 4 recovery points because it deletes the oldest recovery point after creating the last set.
So if you keep the set of 4 , while it tries to create the 4th set, it will delete the oldest recovery point only after it creates the 4th set.
So in your case on one server you are shot of 35gb space and on the other server you are shot of 75gb space.
Hope this helps !!
