1) Ghost is mainly used for PC imaging and deployment. It is not a backup & recovery software. It cannot be compared with BE and SSR.

BE is a file-level backup software, whereas SSR is sector-based (block level).

BE can backup to Disk, Tape, Cloud, whereas SSR can backup only to Disk.

BE is a more comphrensive Backup & Recovery software than SSR. SSR is quicker when it comes to recovering a server asap, however BE offers more advanced options for non-DR restores as well. Both can restore to dissimilar hardware and offers features such as P2V.

Have a look @ these links -

BE - http://www.symantec.com/backup-exec/?fid=backup-exec

SSR - http://buy.symantec.com/estore/clp/productdetails/pk/system-recovery-server-edition
