Restore question

Hi, I have a question about restoring a server.

I backed up a server that has 4 - 146.3 GB drives in RAID 5 (hardware RAID).  I have 3 drives on the array (C:, E:, O:).  I want to restore to a similar server (same model and 4 - 146.3 GB  drives) but doesn't have RAID.  I want to use software RAID.  What's the best way to proceed?  ie.  Should I install the OS on the destination server, set up the three drives, and set up software RAID first?  Which recovery method would be preferable?

Thank you in advance,

Dean

If the disk numbering to partition conversion works out successfully, you should restore each drive, in the order as they appear, to the separate drives one at a time retaining the disk signature only on the non-OS partitions, and once back into Windows re-dynamic your disks if you wish.
