Hi
I had to restore data from tape. I inserted tape in robotical drive. Select tape and then click on recover. The message appeared to catalog tape before restore. I ran the catalog operation. It finished then I started again restore but message still came to catalog tape. I cataloged again. I again ran restore but still msg is coming to catalog tape. I do not know what I should do . data is very important and i have to restore it as soon as I can.

You may want to consider calling into technical support and opening a support ticket.
- Stop BE services in Tools | BE services
- Rename your catalog folder to *.OLD; by default the catalog folder is located in \program files\symantec\backup exec\catalog
- Restart BE services
- On the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the Properties pane, under Settings, click Catalog.
- Do the following:
- Uncheck Request all media in the sequence for catalog operations
- Uncheck Use storage media-based catalogs
- Click OK.
- Choose to Inventory your tape
- Choose then to catalog your tape
- Then attempt a restore job.
