Hello support,
I am now wondering what is wrong with SSR 2011 and dell R710 mass storage drivers.
I install windows successfully on the server. but when i need to restore another server backup using SSR 2011 to this server it tells me the mass storage controller is missing
I have downloaded a series of drivers for the Perc H700H integrated, yet still no resolution. this is becoming veru embarassing to do this at a site.
I have successfully restored with SSR 2011 on HP servers.
What can i do?

Hi Chris,
Thank you for your response.
I already have the SSR 2011 SP3 used.
I have finally been able to get the multidevice driver from dell site for 32 bit. this finally worked with loading drivers from the SRD.
Now i can see the disks.
hopefully, I will not have any issue during the restore.

You need the 32 Bit driver for Windows Vista/Server 2008, try to load them with drvload when the SRD is running. If this works out successfully you could create a custom SRD where this driver is alread included.

hi Mark,
I will try this at the site tomorrow. Do i need to install the 32bit Windows 2008 b4 i can get the driver?
The customer is using Windows 2008 R2.
Thank you.

No you only need the extracted driver files on the SRD.

Hi Mark,
Thank you i really hope this will work cos the customer is getting really tired of it all. I already have BESR 2010 at hand just in case.

Hi Mark,
I also read your responses from this forum
https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/system-recovery-2011-not-finding-internal-sata-drives
I was wondering, would the BESR restore the backup from SSR 2011?

Hm, I'd guess yes but I haven't tried it out yet. Give it a try.

Also make sure you are using the SSR 2011 SP3 (10.0.3) recovery disk as we had some issues with earlier versions with regards adding drivers.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your inputs.
I guess i will be needing the BESR 2010 to restore the SSR 2011 backups for this restore now.
I will test this in my lab later.
I will just continue with the restore process.

Keep us posted please if the restore went fine too.
