Here's the scenario:
I have a Dell PowerEdge server, with Server 2008 R2, RAID 5 with 3 1TB drives. Using a Dell RAID controller, and have TWO containers. One 32GB OS drive, and the remaining as a DATA drive.
I want to just have a recovery backup of the C: OS 32GB drive. Will this work even though the drives are all part of the same RAID 5 array? I have an external drive to backup to, but
I'm pretty sure if I had partitioned the drive, I could not do this, but with two containers, it may work?

Yep it will work as the raid is transparent for SSR.

Great! Saved me a lot of money, because I was thinking I needed another three smaller drivers in a RAID 5 for the OS.
Appreciate it!

Nop as long as there is enough space there is no problem.
