Hi,
I have an exchange server 2013 RU7 running on a VM 2012 r2. (within 2012 r2 core hyperV)
SSR 2013 r2 sp2 backup runs fine.
Restore also!
GRO however, has a tab Exchange wich is empty...
no error messages
Anyone?

Are you backing up all volumes that contain Exchange information (databases, logs etc) in the SAME backup job?
What version of Outlook is installed on the machine where you are trying the restore?

Hi Chris,
Thanks voor your reply
Yes the full computer is backed up, with hidden drives.
I use outlook 2010 64 bits because ssr is also 64 bits, as is os and exchange.
In other machines I see ( with outlook started or not started)
storage groep: computername
and storage: the database
In this machine both are empty ( with outlook started or not started)

Are the recovery points stored locally to the machine where you are trying the restore? Or stored on a remote share/nas?
If they are remote, are you able to try opening them when they are local (i.e. stored on a local USB drive)?

Just wondered if there were any updates on this?

Hi,
I did not receive your last post!
They are stored locally on a internal drive!
I can open the explorer recoery points and even GRO for files, but exchange stays empty!

Hi
Files and folders can be accessed and I only see error in logfile: There is an error in XML document (141, 56)
Have you seen it before?
04-28-2015 01:04 AM
Yes, I've seen similar errors before.
Can you confirm the exact names of the Message Stores on this Exchange server?
Also, on the volume where Exchange is installed, you should find a hidden folder called Backup Information (SSR creates this for Exchange backups). In this folder you should find a file with a .eif extension - can you please attach this here.

Thanks for providing this.
We think the issue is due to the existence of a special character in the Organizational Unit name being used for these mailboxes. Can you confirm the name of the OU for the mailbox for Rina Mik.
Could you provide the names of the OUs that start with 'UsersM' and 'M'.
