SSR 2013 R2 SP4 usb recovery disk no mouse support

I created a SSR 2013 R2 USB recovery disk on Windows 10 and tested it but for whatever reason, the recovery disk created with SSR 2013 R2 with SP4 no longer has mouse support & I can only navigate using the keyboard.  I have reproduced this with 32 and 64 bit USB recovery disks  The SP3 version did not have this problem.  Both PC's have wireless mouse and keyboards.  Thanks!

Since SP3 was not supported on Windows 10, I assume that recovery disk was created on a different operating system - Windows 8.1?

If that is true, the version of WinPE being used for the recovery disk is different. The SP4 based recovery disk (created on Win 10) uses the latest version of WinPE (listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Preinstallation_Environment).

This is the key difference and may explain why you are seeing different results. It could be that the driver being used for your mouse is not functioning correctly inside WinPE.

This tool (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html) will list all loaded drivers inside the recovery environment. You could compare the results when checking both the SP3 and SP4 recovery disks... may give some clues.

Thank you for the reply.  Would the driver for the wireless mouse be different than a wired USB mouse as that would work in the SP4 recovery disk?  My wireless keyboard also works in the SP4 recovery disk.  Thanks!

Not sure about that, but yes - probably. You will need to look at the details of the devices on these machines to see what drivers they are using.
