SSR 2013 R2 Shows Reduced Data size after backup

Has someone else experienced this?

I installed SSR 2013 R2 and created an independent recovery point fo a partition of 921GB used space. When it completed successfully, I got only 532GB backed up.

I have tried to trace if there is anything else missing but i do not understand the

Is there deduplication now in SSR 2013 R2 or am I having another issue.

Go to your backup job, right-click on it and select "Edit Settings". On the third page you will find the level of compression used. To check if the backup is successful, go to the backup destination and find the right ".v2i" file; right-click and mount it. If it mounts, you are good to go. You can also use Recovery Point Browser. Why do you think you have an issue? As another poster mentioned, this may just be due to the compression level you are seeing with the data that was backed up.

If you can mount the recovery point, all should be fine.
