Service Pack 2 for Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2013 will be available soon and, amongst other things, will bring support for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
I cannot provide an exact date for the release of SP2 at this stage but this thread will be updated with details (release notes etc) when SP2 is available.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

ciao Chris, purtroppo non parlo Inglese, spero capirai il mio Italiano. La Patch 11.0.2.49853 dopo il Download risulta senza l'estensione (.exe). E' giusto aggiungerla manualmente? grazie ciao.

I'm not sure why the download does not have a .exe extension - I just checked it here and it seems fine to me so I can only assume your browser or security settings have done this.
Try manually renaming the file with .exe to see if that helps.

The referenced link is for the Release Notes not a download location. What am I missing?

Is there anyway I can verify that the Symantec Recovery Disk I have is the one created for SP2?
I saw in http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH214770 that it is based on WinPE 5.0, as this is the Windows 8.1 version of the PE it will make loading drivers easier for me.
Thanks

Devo dire che nel download eseguito da me, mancava l'estensione (.exe) solo su Internet Explorer (poi vedrò perchè) ma con firefox mozilla tutto è regolare con l'estensione (.exe.) grazie

Look in the Related Articles section (towards the bottom) for the link to the download:

It's not available on SIM yet - please see notes here:

The version revision is usually included in the name for the ISO file.
11.0.1 = SP1
11.0.2 = SP2
Also, you can boot off the SRD, go to a command prompt and run WINVER. This will list the Windows version. 6.2 is Windows 8/2012 and 6.3 is 8.1/2012 R2:

Hope that helps.

when will it be available on SIM?
02-28-2014 02:34 AM
My understanding is that it will be on SIM sometime next week. Dates still subject to change though.

Well my files have 11.0.2 and running cmd from the SRD shows a heading 6.3.9600 (though winver isn't recognised) so I'm happy.
Thank you

I went to the referenced site and downloaded the 32 bit version. When I unzipped Ifound two files and unsure of which ones I ran both. My Desktop version now reads 11.02.49853. but I don't know if that means I have SP2 or not. Maybe I should wait two more weeks for Liveupdate to install SP2 on my other machines. Wish things were more straightforward with Symantic.

11.0.2 = SP2
SP2 should be available on LiveUpdate next week.

Just letting you know that SP2 is now available on SIM.

FYI - SP2 is now available on LiveUpdate.

I am on Windows 8.1 64-bit computer.
Even after applying the SP2, SSR2013 "loses" the drive info and backup does not run i.e. gives the same error I was getting before and which others have complained in various threads about SP1. Somehow, a full manual base recovery point was eventually successful last week for the first time after installing full SP2 version. BTW, the backup ran after several tries of starting-restarting SSR2013 and the computer. It was very strange - showing drives with "blue icons of ? mark" in the "Status" window. When this happens, right clicking the backup job in the status window shows the two options, "Run Backup now" and "Run backup with options" are grayed out and if "change settings" option is chosen, none of the drives show up!
No one else is having these issues?
Please help.
Thsnks,
anil

I would recommend that you open a support case so this can be investigated further.
