Server hangs up when backup is running

Hello!

I use different versions (6.5.0.17171 and 7.0) of Symatec Backup Exec System Recovery. But with all version i have the same touble. The servers hangs up while backup my systems. I must turn of the computer completely and restart the server again. But this problem is not always. Sometimes it works correctly. Liveupdate says there is no new update aviable.
Could someone tell me how i can fix my problem?

Thanks

Peter

To the best of my knowledge, no further updats are available for the versions you are running.  The last of the version 7 series I remember running was version 7.03.

Do you have any mail or SQL services running on these servers?  There is probably a resource conflict during the imaging process that may be curable with either pre-imaging, post-snap, or post-imaging scripts to turn off and restart conflicting services

I use the special version for Small Business Server. I think there is a problem with the shadow copy. One Server tells me there is a problem with ntrfs. But i think all version have the same problem. If there was an error the computer crash..
But i will test the system with shot down the mail services.

The latest build for 7.0 is 7.0.5 so you should test with that if possible.

Something else to consider is the storage controller - check to see if there are any updates available as some older drivers have been known to cause these types of problems.
