I can't understand what is the difference between snapshot and recovery point in SSR.
I  reads in the manual that I can start an script after SSR makes the snapshot or after makes the recovery point.
But, what is the diference?
Thank.

Snapshot=Taking the information sectorwise from the disk

Recovery point = Writing the information to the backup destination -->*.v2i, *.sv2i files

or put otherwise:

pre command -->take Snapshot-->Post command-->create recovery point-->after command

a typical pre command would be to stop a non VSS aware database so that the files are not in use and the backup is consistend

a typical post command would be to start the database

anything still unclear ?

Thank Markus.

Now I can understand.
Both terms looked like equals for me.
