Symantec Recovery Disk

I need to restore a linux server red hat enterprise 5, I have the symantec recovery disk and images files are in a Windows 2003 file server, I can boot from cd, I configure network interface, but I dont know how find the images files.

How can I connect to shared resources in the Windows server? I reach server with ping command.

I am basic linux user.

You need to connect the shared resource to a local driveletter and then select the image files.

You can to this by opening a command prompt and typing the following commands

 

net use G: \\SERVERNAME\SHARENAME /user:USER PASSWORD

 

The shared resource is then mapped as drive g: and you can browse this drive for the image files.

I really need to mount images files from my linux server, I need recover linux server, I dont think that net use commad works.

Yes, you need to issue this commands from the SRD when it is running.

Now, I´m running in the recovery mode (boot with srd).

sh-3.2# appears

When I write net use command

sh: net: command not found

Your help please

Are you really running the SRD ? My SRD is a Windows PE based DVD. I have a screenshoot attached. Pls take look.
