Symantec System Recovery R2 - won't launch

SM86M
Level 0

Hi - I'm retired and rely on SSR to back up my computer. The application has suddenly stopped launching from both the Task bar menu and from the Programs menu. I get the splash screen and then nothing else. I can access the sub-routines, recovery disk creator, granular restore, recovery point browser etc. but not the main program. I'd be most grateful for any suggestions. The program version is 11.1.4.55331 running on Win 10 Pro 64 bit.
Many thanks.

It sounds like you are running a very old version of SSR - now VSR (Veritas System Recovery) that doesn't support Windows 10.

If you look at the SCL (Software Compatibility List) for the different versions:
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100046309

you will see that Windows 10 isn't supported until version 2013 R2:
https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/SR_2013R2_SCL

Consequently you will need to upgrade to ensure that Windows 10 is supported - the current version of VSR is 22 and version 23 is due out in a few weeks' time.
