I have Symantec System Recovery Management Solution 2013 R2 running on windows server 2012. I have manually installed the Management Agent on an XP SP3 desktop. However the status is showing as Not inialized, the icon in the system tray has a red line through a circle.
This means that the Agent is unable to communicate with the central console. I'd appreciate any help in troubleshooting, diagnosing the problem.
I have attempted several installs, using local system account and a Domain admin account on various machines but am not getting a consistent experience.
ie. sometimes it communicates with the central management server sometimes not.

Make sure that an exception for http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH196066 C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec System Recovery\Console\VProconsole has been added to the firewall
