System Recovery 6.5 and Windows 2000 running Oracle

I have installed System Recovery 6.5 on a Windows 2000 server running Oracle 8.1. Since then it will not do a soft reboot, hangs on the Windows 2000 server splash screen. Does anyone have any ideas? There is nothing in the logs. You can ping the server. A cold reboot works fine. Any ideas would be awesome. When I can get downtime I will boot in VGA to get clues.

I was seeing similar behaviour, only mine would stop just before the splash screen. No response from pings, though. I found that uninstalling my Symantec AV improved things a little, but that may not be an option for you.

Try to get ahold of an old version of BESR (like LiveState Recovery 3.x), uninstall BESR and test with LSR to see if it works any better.

Nah this isn't really an option. I have given up now! Thanks anyway
