I've tried searching the KB and google but nothing comes up.

Has anyone come across this message? Do I need some other software installed?

Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

Regards

Re: Unable to generate GUID

It would appear that either the Backup Exec System Recovery Manager (BESRM) Server and/or console had become corrupt. If you have tried logging in and running the BESRM console from a secondary machine to create the EasyInstaller package(s) on your central BESRM Server, and had the same results, I suggest then to uninstall both and reinstall BESRM on your non-mission critical Full-install of Windows 2003 Sp1 server locally (i.e. NOT through a RDP or TS session) and try then to create your packages again; after of course you had applied the NFR trial license for the BESRM server. When creating packages, do so either locally at the central server’s BESRM console or install the BESRM console app on a secondary admin system and login from that console to the BESRM server; it is recommended not to use RDP or TS to login to the BESRM console system to administrate clients or in the creation of packages.

Re: Unable to generate GUID

Hi David,

Many thanks for the reply.

I have tried as you suggested but this did not work.

I am trying this software on a XenSource server VM so just wondering if you've perhaps heard of this occuring with virtual machines?

I don't really want to spare a physical machine to test this product as I prefer to do all my testing on VM's.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Unable to generate GUID

XenServer 4.1 is supported wit BESR http://support.veritas.com/docs/297170 EasyInstaller packages has have a problem in running the scripting you might want to try running the install instead through the use of command line swiches following the steps outlined in
