I just updated SMP from 8.0 to 8.1 and then 8.1 RU 5
Now if I enter altiris console, the tab with "backup status" (the lower-left one) says that an error has occurred in the application, and to check the logs with the altiris log viewer for more details.
What should I do?
EDIT: I realised VSS 16 is not compatible with 8.0. I installed 8.1 as a necessary step to upgrade, I guess I should just go on and install VSS 18
UPDATE: Indeed that tab works again after upgrading to v18

As you found out, only the v18 version of the Management Solution will work with SMP 8.1.
