Hi There,
I have a client running Symantec System Recovery SBS Edition and they have a current basic mantenance subscription. They want to upgrade their SBS server to full blown Windows Server 2008 or 2012.
Is there an upgrade path or do they have to purchase the product in full again?
Thanks

Hi TRaj,
I have checked the licensing article and it clearly states I can't use the SR SBS license on a Windows Server.
I already know this but I was asking if there is an upgrade path if they have got annual maintenance on the SR SBS license?

That's correct - SBS and Server licenses are different.
As I mentioned earlier, please contact our licensing team as they will be able to help you answer this query.

Yes there is a upgrade path provided you are using SBS license , as Chris mentioned you can call Licensing and if the information is not enough or if you would like to swap the license you can ask them to transfer the call to Sales and the Sales will take care on swapping the license key if possible preffered on the contract you are using.
