Thanks for the help, but the problem was little different. It turned out to be the SSL certificate configured in IIS. I don't know why, but starting from 12/04 the self-signed certificate was not trusted anymore by clients. Switching to a certificate trusted by all clients solved this problem. Installation/upgrade might be a separate issue.

@twister12

I'm actually working with Symantec on this at the moment.

Can you please provide some details on what you are doing and the environment you have, for example:

  • Is this a new install or upgrade?
  • If upgrade, what version are you upgrading from/to?
  • Version of SQL being used (including service pack level)
  • Is SQL local or remote?
  • Is SQL 32 or 64bit?

Hi ,

I have try SQL Express 2012 and 2014 and SQL Standard 2012

All without Service Pack.

SQL is onbox.

SQL 64 Bit.

Any idea what can be the Issue?

Best regards

I don't have an answer for that yet I'm afraid. Symantec have released a new version of the Installation Manager - have you tried this yet?

If that does not help, can you please open a support case (reply back here with your case number).

@twister12

Yes, but what version of SIM do you have installed? Click on Settings, then About Symantec Installation Manager to see the version.

Why can you not open a support case? You are shown here as a partner, so you should be able to open a case if this is true.

OK, that is the latest version of SIM.

If you cannot open a case via the web, you can always call in and open it that way:

This has the details: http://www.veritas.com/docs/000126628.

It's not 'official' yet.... but Symantec will add this fix to the next version of SIM.

Hello,

I am using SSR2013 R2 SP6 since year 2016 ans, following your advice, I have downloaded and unzipped the VSR_16.0_SP1_Patch_64.zip file. I have received two files: Veritas_System_Recovery_16.0_SP1_Patch.msp and PatchSetup.exe. Starting this last file I receive a comment: "This patch can't be installed: contact Veritas Support". I imagine that I have to confirm that I have a license for VSR 16. Indeed I have my Symantec SSR license. Going to my Symantec account I see that my license is managed by my.Veritas.com as a "standard perpetual license" n° M1966332924. Can you help solving this trouble ? Thanks. ;)

@unpeujuste

You have downloaded service pack 1 for VSR 16 which can only be installed over the top of VSR 16. You cannot use that to install on top of SSR 2013 R2 which is what you currently have.

Yes, you are correct; you do need a license for VSR 16 before you upgrade. You should be able to manage your licenses/downloads using our portal: https://my.veritas.com/

If you have any problems with accessing the portal, you will need to speak to our customer care department: https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/contact-us.html

Hope that helps.

Thank you,

Clearly I poorly interpreted your last answer of june th 15 th. I had written: "May I consider that VSR 16 SP1 is a normal update for SSR 2013 R2 SP6 ..." and you had answered " Yes, you can upgrade from 2013 R2 SP6 to VSR 16 SP1- there is no need to remove the older version first". Now, could you say how I can download the wright file to update SSR toward VSR 16 ? I apologize for my clusiness. :)

@unpeujuste

You can download the full package for VSR 16 SP1 from either the portal or from our trialware page:

Many thanks for your past help: I succeeded in updating my Veritas license key. On 10/12/2017 my VSR16 was updated to version 16.02.56166  :)
