Virtual Machine very slow after conversion from BESR backup

Hi,

I've converted a BESR backup into virtual disks, which I've attached to a Virtual Server 2005 VM. With backups created on other Intel servers it works perfectly. However, with backups taken from two HP servers (ml350g5), the VM is practically unusable, because its so slow. I cannot even get the Virtual Machines Additions setup to run.

Please help!!!

Do you have any of the HP Management Agents installed? If so, remove these (no longer needed) to see if this helps.

I actually just saw this myself. It took me a long time to get to the task manager, and when I did it was obviously cqmgserv.exe. Once killed, the server (VM) went back to normal.

All users of HP and Symantec BESR beware!

Thanks Chris

Quicker workaround - let the server run it's setup after the virtual conversion or restore to dissimilar, then on 1st reboot press F8, use safe mode and disable all the HP services.

Then reboot and bring up as (virtually) normal and uninstall everything that is HP!

Or disable the HP services or uninstall them before backup / conversion.
