backups failing

Here is the issue with BESR 2010 SP5

after sum days it is again failing with 1 % status only.

Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. POSTCONDITION failed, CopyLegacyBootManager::GetDestinationRegion: .\CopyLegacyBootManager.cpp(190): pRegion.

How often are you seeing this issue?

How many machines affected?

What is being used as the backup destination?

this issue seen sum day ago

i tried with installing with SP5 , now after 10 days it is coming once again,

Backup destination is external USB drive,

How many USB drives are you using? Are you doing any kind of drive rotation for the backup destination?

If yes, please provide details on how the job is configured and how/when drives are being rotated.

only 1 drive is in use, no drive rotations/

job configuration is daily incremental at every 1 hour ,

full backups weekly,

all are working fine but in today morning when the job started automatically it is started to hang on 1% as seen in the image,

also when cheking the logs..it is saying that " incremental recovery point is not created because previous job is still in progress,, "

so it is hang on 1% ..this is coming even after doing all stopping n restarting the besr services, running manual job .also i have reinstall the symsnap.inf driver now just wating for reboot, tomorow i will see what hapeenes......fingers crossed uptill.

The hanging at 1% is a different issue which is almost certainly caused by the machine not shutting down cleanly since the last backup. If the machine blue screened, you would also see this issue. If you leave the backup, it will eventually finish but it stays on 1-2% for much longer than it normally would.

The error you mentioned will have to be investigated via a support case.

as i said the backup took 7 hours to complete when i see this in morning 2day.(size only 100MB)

after that restarting the server now the incrementals are done properly.

so in my view below steps worked for me

stop all the besr services.

reinstall symsnap.inf drivers

C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Shared\Drivers\win32

SymSnap.inf 

and reboot the server
