hi all

what im curious of is if i create a yearly base with hourly incrementals would it eventually stop creating incrementals when it hits a certain number

so say roughly there are 8760 hours in a year would it create this many incrementals or would it stop eventually?

The challange will be if one incremental overlaps with another , so you may have to try incrementals after at least 4-5 hours of gap

I know when it creates a backup it saves incrementals as for example Cdrive_i001.iv2i and it only changes the number from i001 to i002 when a new incremental is created, would this mean that there is only a possibility of 999 incrementals before it starts fresh again and starts to overlap like you mentioned?

The number 999 incremental was a limitation for offsite copy in one of the older version of SSR. It was SSR 2011

You may have to test whether it's the same with SSR 2013 /SSR 2013 R2
