I don't have any issue with closing old threads, so long as we can request them to be reopened, by a moderator. If it is an issue/question/discussion that is still relevant then it should be reopenable.
What is better?
1. A multitude of related threads, that are disjointed and not necessarily easy to find or
2. A single thread of a topic that is still current?

Meh! The threads deal with a question that is not really version or time specific... The questions and comments are pretty much all as relevant today, as they were 8+ years ago. VOX has bigger problems to fix, IMHO...
