The default topic sort order appears to be "Original posting date". This is annoying as visitors will miss out on new contributions to older (or long running) topics.
IMHO "Time of most recent post" would be the appropriate system wide setting. Every forum that I know of (except VOX now) sorts by time of most recent post.
Of course I can set this in my profile settings, but then I have to logon just to have a sensible reading experience. And since there is no way to stay logged on forever, this is not a good workaround.
