A lot has changed in data management since 1999—and progress continues building along with the stores of data among the world’s organizations. With this in mind, I’m thrilled to share one thing that has remained the same: Gartner Inc. has again named Veritas Technologies a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutions [1].

A leader in data management, with an eye on the horizon

Year over year, Veritas delivers new capabilities to our customers, improving their ability to manage, protect, and understand data. Veritas solutions have evolved to meet the challenges of today’s dynamic IT environments—and the importance and potential in data goes beyond what is currently maintained and stored; from backup and recovery, to data governance and identifying opportunities to analyze and extract value from data, we are persistently researching and developing solutions based on the future of IT.

In June, Veritas announced the Enterprise Data Services Platform, addressing the three key areas of Availability, Protection, and Insights. EDSP builds off a NetBackup 8.2 core, including support for 500+ data sources, 150+ storage targets, and 60+ clouds—and it can be deployed in any form factor today. It’s the most versatile and extensible platform available to enterprises and represents the perfect IT foundation.

Veritas is guided by these intentions:

Any offering supporting today’s modern enterprise—including 99 percent of the Fortune 100—must be designed to be always-on and easy-to-use, with intuitive user experiences, relevant, rich features, and attention to ready scalability.

As our customers’ data management needs evolve, we’re advancing our workload support program and providing the ability to manage snapshot operations across private, hybrid and multi-cloud data center environments—all with a commitment to heterogeneity.

NetBackup’s integrated cloud connectors offer simple, seamless access to multi-cloud support across almost any cloud platform with leading public and private cloud storage providers, including AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, and S3 compatible storage. We also integrate with every on-premises solution to round out our private and hybrid-cloud integrations, including partnerships with Nutanix, Pure Storage, and VMWare.

The NetBackup solution portfolio goes beyond data protection, addressing customers’ toughest SLAs with a near 100% backup and recovery success—because in today’s enterprise, availability impacts everything. And NetBackup is not just backup and recovery—it’s a core component of our Enterprise Data Services Platform.

Driven by this potential, we are giving customers new ways to discover value in their data with offerings like APTARE IT Analytics and the ML-powered Veritas Predictive Insights—so our customers can derive greater value from their data in every facet of the enterprise.

From all of us at Veritas Technologies—it’s an honor to be named a Leader in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup and Recovery Solutions, 14 times in a row.
