2018 was an exciting year at Veritas Technologies. Walking the hallways of Veritas headquarters, you can feel the enthusiasm among our employees for the future of the company. And this energy is felt on behalf of our customers, too.

We’re listening to you, and your input is guiding the development of the next generation of Veritas data management solutions. Because of you – our customer – we’re uniquely positioned to address the dynamic IT environments of tomorrow as we step into our 17th year as a market leader in data protection.

Guided by your insights, Veritas is leading the data protection market.

In 2018,we simplified the user experience of NetBackup 8.1.2. including a fresh, web-based interface that improves data access and awareness, and supports interaction across an organization’s IT staff. And we continued inspiring digital transformation in customer IT environments, expanding integration to VMware and upgrading our enterprise cloud backup solutions with CloudPoint 2.0 and SaaS Backup – both designed to meet the needs of the multi-cloud enterprise and reduce the risks associated with cloud adoption.

At the close of the year, we received the first solution certification for backup and recovery from Docker Inc. – our NetBackup Client can be deployed as a container and used to protect persistent application data.

We’re guiding enterprise customers in their cloud journey.

In 2018, we increased our level of integration with leading cloud service providers to extend our data management and protection capabilities in the cloud. Organizations continue to trust Veritas to help them tier data to the cloud intelligently, migrate data center workloads to a variety of cloud platforms, ensure their cloud-based applications are protected and recoverable in light of ransomware and other threats, and maintain visibility of their data across multi-cloud environments. We’ve also made many of our enterprise-grade capabilities easily accessible via cloud marketplaces, like Veritas on Azure and Veritas on AWS.

And we’re taking on top data management challenges.

In 2018, we delivered a range of appliances and applications built to tackle the challenges of long-term data retention – capable of consolidating multiple NetBackup deployments on a single appliance, reducing the cost and time required to ensure data is protected even in the most demanding IT environments. We launched Predictive Insights – a support layer for NetBackup Appliances, employing machine learning algorithms to provide proactive data insights to reduce maintenance and unplanned downtime.

We also continued to providing predictable resiliency for your mission-critical applications, and extended it to multi-cloud environments, refreshing our Digital Compliance portfolio with an integrated classification engine supporting your efforts to reduce compliance risks.

Today, Veritas provides the foundation to data management strategies of over 86% of Fortune 500 companies; IT professionals across the globe rely upon our solutions to assure the resiliency of their organization’s data. And we’re exploring innovative avenues to help organizations find new, meaningful opportunities to derive value from their data.

The potential ahead of Veritas and our customers is compelling – the “Data Opportunity,” as we call it. So, in 2019 and beyond, thank you for trusting Veritas as a partner in realizing your organization’s Data Opportunity.
