This is why Veritas is working alongside Microsoft and committed to being the first information management company to offer market-leading data protection for Server 2016 and Hyper-V 2016 on Day 1 upon its release targeted for mid-October 2016.
So what are we announcing?
- Targeted Day 1 support for Windows Server 2016 and Hyper-V 2016. To enable customers to quickly deploy the latest Microsoft technologies and extend the value of their Microsoft investment, Veritas commits to being the first information management company to protect this new platform.
- Back up to Azure cloud storage. Veritas NetBackup and Backup Exec will be able to write data directly to geography and storage tier-specific Azure targets. With direct write access to Azure targets, Veritas enables businesses to leverage the benefits of Microsoft’s cloud storage, such as elastic capacity and consumption pricing.
- 100x faster Hyper-V backup. NetBackup will have unique integration with the Resilient Change Tracking feature in Hyper-V 2016 which will allow NetBackup Accelerator to perform backups up to 100 times faster. This will make it easier to shrink backup windows and reduce storage requirements without requiring a burdensome and potentially destabilizing filter driver as required by other vendors.
