On Thursday, March 14, Veritas CIO John Abel was selected by the Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) to be among this year's Top 50 awardees. The ITLG’s Silicon Valley Top 50 Global Award honors Irish and Irish-American executives making a significant impact in the technology sector.
When speaking about the award, Abel expresed, “I’m honored to be selected by the Irish Technology Leadership Group to receive one of their Silicon Valley Top 50 Global Awards, joining a great group of peers." He went on to explain, "I’m highly impressed by what this organization is doing to promote business, youth innovation, and women in tech—both in the United States and Ireland."
Established in October 2007 and headquartered in Silicon Valley, the ITLG is a nonprofit organization comprised of senior executives from some of the world's leading corporations, each of whom is "committed to promoting the technology connection between Ireland and the Silicon Valley."
The group sponsors mentorship programs such as the ITLG Young Innovators and ITLG Women in Technology—providing opportunities to participants to develop the skills necessary to actively engage entrepreneurial environments. Program highlights include shared sessions on solution development, communication and leadership skills, as well as insight to the future of technology delivered by the organization's leadership.
