The install guide states

The “Supported number of CPUs” refers to the number of cores detected by the Windows operating system and not the physical CPU count. It is possible that a physical CPU not only has multiple cores but can also have hyperthreading enabled (which doubles the number of CPUs detected by the Windows operating system).

Clarification on my posting is needed

For v7.1

Supported number of CPUs: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64

Supported RAM: 32GB, 128GB, 144GB

For v7.1.1

Supported number of CPUs: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64

Supported RAM: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 144GB

For v7.1.2

Supported number of CPU cores: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64

Supported RAM: 24GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 144GB

This was taken from the respective installation guides.

Note : 8GB of RAM and 8CPU/Cores is NOT supported.

So in 7.1.2 I believe we clarified the specification to be Cores and not CPU's

I hope this helps.

Yes, but nothing about physical reqs. Memory, CPU, Windows version. That's what I'm looking for.

Typically it is sold as an appliance but if you are wanting to use your own hardware here you go.

Hardware Requirements

  • R710 or R810 machine or equivalent hardware with:
C: Drive – at least 80GB with recommended 10GB of disk free space – the

installer flags a warning if this is not the case
D: Drive – at least 500GB (note that D: drive is used as a temporary cache for many of Clearwell’s processing components, therefore a D: drive of at least 1TB is recommended)

  • Refer to the appropriate Clearwell E-Discovery Platform hardware specification for your R710 or R810 machine.

  • Clearwell supports hardware configurations as follows out of the box:

o 8 CPUs o16 CPUs o 12 CPUs o 24 CPUs o 32 CPUS o 48 CPUs o 64 CPUs

o 8GB RAMo 16GB RAM o 32GB RAM o 128GB RAM o 144GB RAM

Operating System

Windows Server 2008 64-bit SP2, or Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit installed and activated - Standard or Enterprise versions. (Systems with more than 32 GB of installed memory must use an Enterprise version of Windows.)

This is for Version 7.0

I see you are a partner, you should have access to the Clearwell documentation.  The above information can be found in the Installation Guide.

I believe the above information is slightly wrong (Sorry Tony)

For v7.1

Supported number of CPUs: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64

Supported RAM: 32GB, 128GB, 144GB

For v7.1.1

Supported number of CPUs: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64

Supported RAM: 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 144GB

For v7.1.2

Supported number of CPUs: 16, 24, 32, 48, 64

Supported RAM: 24GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 144GB

This was taken from the respective installation guides.

Note : 8GB of RAM and 8CPU's is NOT supported.

I hope this helps.

So do you need 16 physical cores or can a 8 CPU hyper threading (windows displays 16 processors + 16GB ram) machine be used instead?

Thanks Paul for the correction.  I was in fact looking at the version 7.0 so my info was a bit outdated.

Cheers,
