How to remove a custodian completely from a legal hold?

I need to remove some custodians completely from a legal hold.  I want to remove them, not release them.  Is there any way to do this?

You cant remove someone from a hold without releasing and deleting the hold.

If a custodian was on hold and released you should keep the hold details even if they were on hold by mistake. It is better to release them and keep the tracking to expain what happened than hiding the fact they were ever on hold in the case
