Client migrate from 32 to 64 bit. Netbackup update nessesary?

Greetings my question is, should i update the netbackup client if a client migrate from 32 bit OS to 64 bit OS? Actually backups of the SAP DB are succesefull, but i don't know if there are any disadvantages. Thanks for your help. Denis Forsch
