Hi all, Thanks for the feedback, I tried switching over to the VSS option and restarted the NetBackup services but it is still failing with the same error. I decided to submit a trouble ticket with Symantec to see if they can help.

You were right Amol, I needed to go to the Master Server and set up the BMR database. Once I did that I could install the BMR boot server software on the Linux box and connect. Thanks!
