the 2008 R2 edition is not supported for installing full version of BEWS 12.5. Only agent is supported (RAWS) LOOK IN THE BELOW LINK http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/335868.htm

use VSS as an advance open file technology or do not select open file technology at all. it will approach vss to give backup.
