Symantec Backup Exe System Recovery Manager -different Livestate/BESR clients

Hi Does anybody know if it is  possible to use BESR Manager Server to manage various livestate/BESR clients? We have  Livestate/BESR version 6, 6.5 8, and 8.5 Does all the servers need the agent running on them? Thanks
